Value of volunteers

At the time of the 2006 Annual Review we had the following volunteer count:

  • 64 Generalist Advisers

  • 24 Trainee Advisers

  • 3 Social Policy Researchers

  • 2 IT Support Workers

  • 22 Receptionists and Admin Assistants

  • 27 Trustees/Committee Members

A total of 142 volunteers  (21 more than in the previous year)

Volunteers are our biggest resource.  The value they bring to Cambridge CAB, and thus to the people living or working in and around Cambridge, is enormous.  The bureau would not exist without them.

We count ourselves lucky to attract volunteers of high calibre, who act mainly as advisers - the main 'face' of the service.  All advisers undergo extensive training and are required to reach a high level of competence before being allowed to deal with clients.  They continue to be monitored throughout their CAB 'career'.

As you will see from the above list, volunteers also act as receptionists, IT and admin support staff, social policy researchers and Trustee Board/Committee members.  Volunteers also help with fundraising.

We would like to say a big "thank you" to every one of them.

If you think that you may be interested in volunteering take a look at our 'How to volunteer' page.
