Campaign issue - Choice based lettings
This scheme allows applicants for social housing (and tenants
who want to transfer) to apply for vacancies which are
advertised.
Priority is often given to those with urgent needs and sometimes
to those who have been waiting the longest.
Some tenants have found that they have become liable to pay two
lots of rents simultaneously. This means that for some weeks
they have had rent demanded both for their old accommodation and
for their new accommodation.
