How we can help

There are three ways to access our service.

Most enquiries can be dealt with quickly by phone or by email. This will also save you the journey to our bureau and what may be a lengthy wait. Whichever way you choose to contact us, please bear in mind that we do not offer appointments until after your enquiry has been assessed by an adviser in person, by phone or by email.

By Email

Please click on the links below to be taken to our advice pages.

We have set up a 3 stage process to get access to email advice. We have found that people can frequently get the answer to their question by working through the sections and therefore don’t need to contact us directly. If however, you have not found an answer by the time you have reached the end, the process for emailing is explained.

Please use this link if you need to find a solicitor.

If your access to the Internet is limited or restricted, you may like to use one of the free web access and e-mail points in and around
Cambridge. These are provided by Cambridge Online.

You can also use our Advicehub touch-screen kiosks - link takes you to advicehub.org to find kiosk locations.

By Phone

Our Adviceline telephone number is 0844 848 7979

Our phone lines are staffed from Monday to Friday, but advisers are often only available between 2.00pm and 4.00pm.  We do not employ a call queuing service, so please try again later if your call is not answered.

In Person

Before coming to see us, please consider saving time and travelling costs by phoning or emailing. Most enquiries can be answered without a face to face interview. If you decide to visit us, you do not need an appointment to see an adviser, but please be prepared for what may be a lengthy wait in busy periods.
