It involves working with other agencies, which would be housed in one building, in order to provide, as far as possible, a 'one-stop-shop' for advice in the Cambridge area. You will either need to have 'PowerPoint' installed on your computer or you can use the PowerPoint Viewer, which is obtainable free from Microsoft. The Income Maximisation Project was started in February 2005, following a successful bid to Cambridgeshire County Council.
Funding was initially for one year but has continued because the campaign has been very successful. Just over £2m of new benefit claims were met in the first ten months and the project has gone from strength to strength ever since. Cambridge CAB launched the concept of an 'Advice Hub' in September 2004. It is an ambitious project, born out of the need for new premises from which to provide an even better service to clients.
