15 September 2007 Up to £30 per week to study with the Adult Learning Grant - Adult Learning Grant (ALG) is a weekly grant designed to help adults studying full-time with the costs of learning. The grant pays up to £30 per week for full-time learners aged 19 and over who are studying for their first full level 2 or level 3, which is the equivalent to 5 GSCEs or 2 A levels. With almost a third of adults in the UK currently lacking in basic qualifications, the Learning and Skills Council has been developing new ways to help more people get qualified. ALG is one of the ways that will help people get better qualified and get better jobs. Following a successful pilot, ALG has now been rolled out across England, so that more people can go back to studying to gain more skills.
