Agency Workers Regulations come into force on 1st October
The Agency Workers Regulations 2010 come into force on 1st
October. They give agency workers the right to the same basic
working and employment conditions as comparable employees of the
hirer after a qualifying period of 12 weeks. Although the
regulations are designed to protect and grant new rights to
agency workers they will not give agency workers employee status
and agency workers will not have unfair dismissal rights or the
right to receive statutory redundancy pay.
