Cambridge CAB launches new website
As from 1 February 2007, Cambridge CAB has a new website.
‘We have concentrated on trying to help people to help
themselves by putting links to helpful sites but also explaining
how people can get help.’ Says Rachel Talbot, CEO, ‘Our old
website was very confusing and we have been keen to get it
replaced but this was not possible until the lottery gave us
some money from the Awards For All Fund.
We are fortunate that the designer is a ‘retired’ CAB worker who
is just setting up in the business of website design – so we
have someone who is au fait with the issues facing our clients.
As a result we are hopeful that people will find it easy to find
answers to their questions without having to come to our
office’.
The CAB has used advice from Abilitynet to try to ensure that
the site is as accessible as possible but we are keen to have
feedback on any issues. Automatic email facilities are also now
available on the site.
The CAB is keen to learn about issues in the community and have
also therefore included pages on the site alerting people to
current issues and inviting feedback from the community. Current
subjects include problems with debt consolidation companies,
cuts to funding for mental health services, and tax credit
overpayments.
