Are you a good listener? Do you want to help people in your community overcome the problems they face? Would you like a volunteer role where you will always be learning something new? If so, join our friendly, supportive team as a Volunteer Adviser.
Volunteer Advisers help members of the public to solve a wide variety of problems by providing information and advice, face to face and over the phone. The role requires good listening, problem-solving and IT skills.
Graham, Volunteer Adviser, says: “Being a volunteer adviser is a thoroughly rewarding experience. I am always learning more about housing, welfare, employment and a whole range of topics. I am very well supported by the permanent staff and feel part of a great team. It’s a good feeling to help people overcome problems they are facing, which can have a significant impact on their lives.”
We are looking for people who can volunteer for a minimum of one day a week for 12 months. Full training is provided, so no previous adviser experience is necessary. There are three adviser training courses each year, and the next course is due to start in September 2016.
