What we do for you
Our Adviceline is often very busy and you may have to wait in a queue or call back at less busy times such as afternoons. We offer a voicemail service if you would rather have us call you back when we are less busy.
Calls to our adviceline are answered by our trained volunteer advisers. They will ask you questions about you and your situation to determine the best advice for you. They will explain your options so you can make your own informed decisions about your situation.
We aim to resolve your issue when you call us but we may advise you to take some action and then contact us again. After talking to you we may believe it is best for you to come for a pre-arranged appointment at our office or one of our community locations.
Help to claim Helpline
We offer a dedicated Help to Claim service that can support you in the early stages of your Universal Credit claim, from application through to your first payment. We can complete a check to see if you will be better off on your current benefits or on Universal Credit.
It’s free, independent and confidential. Our trained advisers can help with things like how to gather evidence for your application or how to prepare for your first work coach appointment.
Call us on 01223 618594 between 9.00am – 5.00pm from Monday to Friday.
