You can get advice by calling us Monday to Friday 9.00am – 4.00pm

Our Adviceline is often very busy and you may have to wait in a queue or call back at less busy times such as afternoons.

Calls to our adviceline are answered by our trained volunteer advisers. They will ask you questions about you and your situation to determine the best advice for you. They will explain your options so you can make your own informed decisions about your situation.

We aim to resolve your issue when you call us but we may advise you to take some action and then contact us again. After talking to you, we may believe it is best for you to come for a pre-arranged appointment at our office or one of our community locations.

Get help applying for Universal Credit

Our Help to Claim service can support you in the early stages of your Universal Credit claim, from the application, through to your first payment.

Help to Claim is a dedicated service from Citizens Advice. It’s free, independent and confidential. Our trained advisers can help with things like how to gather evidence for your application or how to prepare for your work coach appointment.

Energy Telephone Appointment

These appointments will last for 45 minutes and can be used to discuss rising energy costs, smart meter issues, energy switches, energy debt or the warm home discount. Note that these appointments are not suitable for lengthy energy disputes with energy companies.

Please note that these appointments are funded soley to discuss energy related issues. If you do not have an energy related issue when we call for your appointment, we regret that we will need to refer you to our Adviceline and end the call.
